Purpose of role
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all interactions and outcomes, whilst preserving patient confidentiality, to ensure patient history and records of treatment are available for future reference.
- Work in collaboration within the broader LASN network and contribution to LASN performance targets and service delivery standards.
- Comply with the provisions of the Ambulance Service Act 1991 and all QAS policies and procedures as determined by the Commissioner, QAS and the relevant Industrial Awards and Agreements.
Intensive Care Flight Paramedics
- Maintain the aircraft and hangar with aircraft crews in accordance with QAS base specific Standards.
- Complete support and administration duties as directed by QAS/local helicopter rescue senior staff.
- Work effectively as a member of a small team ensuring the Pilot is promptly advised on all matters affecting the safety and effectiveness of the aircraft and,
- Carry out all duties and training in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations and the local Helicopter Rescue Operations Manual and other relevant aviation regulations, policies and standards.
Mandatory Requirements
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Paramedic Science (Ambulance); certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
- Must possess a Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Paramedical Practice or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
- Required to hold an open Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car) prior to closing date for applications. (Interstate and International applicants must hold an equivalent licence at the time of applying and will be expected to obtain a Queensland Driver's Licence upon appointment).
- Intensive Care Flight Paramedics must successfully complete all Aero-medical training requirements with an agreed time frame.
