A significant opportunity has arisen for an exceptional professional to lead the NSW Ambulance Service, the third largest ambulance service in the world. The Chief Executive will head an organisation providing high quality paramedic health care services across a population of 7.25 million, responsible for over 1.1 million emergency and non-emergency responses annually.
Reporting to the Director General of the Ministry of Health and leading a staff of 4,300, the successful candidate will be a member of the NSW Health Senior Executive Forum. He or she will lead the effective clinical and corporate governance of the organisation and ambulance services and ensure the most efficient and prudent use of organisational resources. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in integrating ambulance services within the wider health system and will work collaboratively with other NSW Health entities, other state entities, stakeholders and the community.
High calibre candidates will have a strong record of management achievement at executive level in a complex and geographically dispersed health or welfare/social/human services organisation; proven operational leadership capacity (including planning, HR, budget and assets); strong corporate governance experience; excellent communication and influencing skills; and a demonstrated understanding of the health sector.;
