Officer in Charge ( Community Safety)

Location: Murgon
Mandatory Qualifications:
Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance), certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car) prior to closing date for applicants. (Interstate and International applicants must hold an equivalent licence at the time of applying and will be expected to obtain a Queensland Driver's Licence upon appointment)

Responsibilites:
Lead and manage all aspects of operations and performance within their allocated Ambulance Station;
Maintain and build relationships with partners and key stakeholders in particular Queensland Health (QHealth) Hospital and Health Services (HHS) throughout Queensland;

Work in collaboration with the broader LASN network and contribute to LASN performance targets and service delivery standards;

Coordinate the organisational health and safety requirements of the the station including raising the awareness, safety, preparedness, prevention, protection and health management of QAS staff;

Ensure that the provision of paramedic education and training is provided to the relevant staff at Station level.

Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development by attending relevant educational sessions to maintain up to date knowledge and practices including any mandated requirements;

Provide a positive contribution in the implementation and review of operational policies, procedures, strategies and projects on QAS operations;

Liaise with QHealth and key stakeholders, Departmental officers and special interest groups regarding LASN operations at station level;

Identify, document and report on Station and individual officer performance and action issues and risks as they relate to the LASN station operations;

Provide ongoing oversight, leadership and management support across the station's operations;

Well developed conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and performance data to drive performance improvement;

Ability to contribute to strategic planning and the provision of policy advice in particular, contributing to LASN operational policy, standards and service improvement initiatives;

Apply well developed skills to communicate effectively, consult, negotiate and collaborate to achieve desired outcomes;

Ability to lead and inspire large, diverse, professional teams, in an environment of competing priorities and needs with finite resources;

Lead and manage at a station level the LASN emergency management capability for disasters, major incidents and mass crowd gatherings in close consultation with the Director Operations - Emergency Management State Headquarters;

Actively encourage the engagement of LAC's within the LASN to maintain positive community relationships, networks and contribution to the QAS;

Clinical practice within your credentialed scope of paramedical clinical practice as approved by the Medical Director and/or Commissioner QAS;

Monitor and report on clinical standards and progression of officers;

Provide clinical leadership and professional guidance to workforce;

Undertake other duties as required by the LASN accountable manager from time to time within the capability of the incumbent.
