We are looking for an Emergency Management Officer, based at our iron ore operation, West Angelas, to support the current Emergency Management team based on the principles of prevention, preparedness,
response and recovery.
Located 110 kilometres west of Newman, West Angelas offers a variety of fly in fly out rosters. Operational since 2002, West Angelas was the first site to be incorporated into Rio Tinto's Mine of the Future™ program, testing autonomous trucks and autonomous drills. A recent expansion to the accommodation village, gym and recreational facilities on site offer exceptional living.

What the role entails
This position is a great opportunity for an honest individual with high work ethics. Working on a fly in fly out roster (7 days on, 7 nights on, 7 days off) and reporting to the Emergency Management Advisor, you will be;
Assisting in developing and maintaining emergency management capability which complies with legislative requirements and site specific needs.
Implementing and maintaining the Emergency Risk Management program.
Ensuring that Emergency Management resources such as people, equipment, policies, procedures and plans meets the strategic needs of the business and site specific requirements.
Promoting Emergency Management.
Fostering close relationships with both external and internal customers.
Promoting a safe culture according to the Rio Tinto Safety standards.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have;
An Industrial Medical certification or a Certificate IV in Health.
Mining industry experience with sound medical background.
A certification in Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Vertical Rescue, Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus and Vehicle Extrication.
The ability to work effectively in a team environment with high integrity.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
A St. Johns Paramedic certification and Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) qualifications.
