Job Qualification:
Current manual driver's license. Be an Australian Citizen or have permanent residency status
A minimum of three years' experience in a State jurisdiction Ambulance Service; and provide evidence of practice within this field for last 12 months
Exposure to heavy industry - preferably construction based with solid advance and remote area first aid experience.
Hold paramedical science qualification minimum Diploma e.g. - Diploma (Assc.) - Applied Health Sciences Pre-Hospital Care (AMBULANCE) or Industrial Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P)
This position also has set requirements that the individual needs to be able to carry out.
Position Requirements:
Provide first response treatment for all injuries and illnesses to site personnel.
Ensure all injured and ill personnel receive the appropriate level of external care within required time frames.
Monitor the recovery and recuperation of personnel suffering injury and illness.
Contribute to the development of rehabilitation and return to work plans for injured personnel.
Monitor, review and amend the rehabilitation and return to work process as required.
Ensure vehicle is always fully stocked and ready for service.
Maintain adequate supply and ensure availability of emergency response and first aid equipment across the project. Maintain accurate records of all treatment.
Conduct observation and reviews of work activities to identify ergonomic hazards and intervene to correct identified hazards.
Prepare and deliver injury prevention awareness training programs. Conduct basic proactive health monitoring programs i.e. stretching, BP, sugar, cholesterol level monitoring etc.
Develop Individual Health Management plans (based on pre-employment medicals) and assist supervision with implementation and monitoring.
Additional Services Required:
ERT skills (fire, vehicle, confined space, vertical rescue)
Ability to run Nationally Accredited Training (advantage to have) - e.g. Basic First Aid & CPR
Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field - advantage
