Our Tanami Operations, 540km north-west of Alice Springs, are on Aboriginal freehold land, in the NT’s remote Tanami Desert. A fully equipped 1000-bed village, 40km from the mine, offers modern leisure facilities to the workforce who FIFO direct from Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs.
The role primarily provides pre-hospital and primary medical care in a professional, timely and effective manner to onsite personnel as well as to the general public in the local area in cases of extreme emergency. The role is also responsible for providing support to operational departments in terms of fitness for work monitoring.
Essential
Tertiary Qualification - in Nursing or;
Qualification in related discipline (Intensive Care Paramedic or recognised equivalent qualification)
Minimum 3 year experience in Nursing or Related Discipline
Current Northern Territory Nursing Registration or;
Current Registration of Current Qualifications. Documentation provided by registered medical practitioner (whom has full understanding of NT legislative requirements), verifying authenticity of operational position requirements for Intensive Care Paramedic or recognised equivalent qualifications
Awareness of Occupational Health and Safety principles and Workers Compensation legislation
Self-motivated, professional, able to work as part of a team
Able to communicate effectively with all sections of workforce and external providers
Desirable
Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor
Exposure to Emergency Response function
Advanced PC skills and computer literacy
Knowledge of Occupational Hygiene systems and processes
