CareFlight is a small to medium enterprise (SME) and manages a team of over sixty-five doctors and eighty-five nurses and paramedics. We have bases conducting international operations in Darwin and Sydney.
CareFlight has delivered medical services including aero-medical support to Australian mining companies in the Australasia region for over 25 years.
CareFlight International delivers medical services to the Oil, Gas and Mining resource sectors. These services include dedicated air ambulances for retrieval work and medical teams consisting of doctors, registered nurses and intensive care paramedics for onsite clinical cover. We also provide medical advice, equipment and logistics.
The Role
CareFlight International is at the forefront of the market in medical retrieval and on-site medical services. Due to significant growth in our client base, we have vacancies for paramedics for on-shore and off-shore positions.
Reporting directly to the Medical Director clinically and the Operations / Account Manager administratively, the role of the on-site Paramedic is to deliver the highest quality paramedical care in a pre-hospital environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in managing logistical issues that may arise within an encounter, ensuring a smooth transition between transport modes and Institutions. They will also be consulting and communicating both within the team and externally with our stakeholders, to ensure an optimal patient journey.
Shift rotations will be sixteen on, fourteen off.
Qualifications & skills
This role requires the applicants to be Certified Paramedic to Intensive Care / MICA level with:
Advanced diagnostic skills.
Advanced airway skills.
Proven Cannulation skills.
ECG interpretation and the use of Cardiac Medication.
Use of S8 analgesia.
Minimum ten years’ experience at this level.
Tertiary Qualifications in Paramedical Science
Rotary Wing / Retrieval experience, DTW not required.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Effective consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Effective time management, problem solving and decision making skills.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a team member in a critical environment.
Demonstrated ability to operate in “out of hospital” environments
Current Passport or the ability to acquire one.
Current Drivers Licence.
This role is the primary point of contact at an operational level, and requires a person with strong communication skills, the ability to engage and build business relationships with the client.
This is a highly autonomous role and requires a high level of self-motivation. We are looking for someone highly organised and who is driven by challenge and is prepared to work hard for the exceptional remuneration structure on offer.
