Emergency Response Officer | Medic
The Emergency Services Officer/Medic will be a key member of the safety team with the focus of the role to support the Superintendent and Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) to provide
relevant medical coverage, emergency response services and other support activities across the entire Owner Operator Phils Creek Operations.

The position will initially be based on site at Phils Creek covering a nine day on, five day off fly
in, fly out roster ex-Perth.

Key result areas for the position are:
- Provide an emergency response and medical support presence to all operational areas across the site, including:
- Diagnosing and treating emergency and medical conditions
- Assist with the management of emergency response facilities, vehicles and equipment
- Undertaking the role of Team Leader for the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- Conducting regular ERT and First Aid Training
- Conducting formal Alcohol and Drug testing on site as required
- Appropriate and complete reporting of all HSET incidents and occurrences
- Comply with, and promote the site’s standards, practices, goals and procedures relating to HSET
- Improve and maintain relevant site procedures and work practices
- Maintain necessary technical accreditation and develop interpersonal and broader skills
Experience required for the role:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a site based similar or relevant role
- Demonstrated experience providing medical treatment and emergency response within a remote location
- Experience developing, implementing and delivering training systems, packages and programs
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, lateral thinking and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal with an ability to import knowledge, coach and mentor others
- Proven experience managing, leading and training emergency response personnel within a mining operation
Qualifications required for the role:
- Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessing
- Industrial Medic /Cert IV Healthcare
(Pre-hospital care/ Diploma Paramedical Science (Ambulance) - Certification in alcohol and other drug testing
- Advanced Fire Fighting
- Open Circuit SCBA
- Hazmat response
- Rope rescue
- Road crash rescue (vehicle extrication)
- Working at heights
- Confined space rescue
