Under the supervision of a qualified Ambulance Officer, Paramedic or Intensive Care Paramedic, you will provide high quality patient care and respond to requests for emergency care and transport of patients. Within this training and development role, you will participate in the provision of health services within an emergency service environment. This will include ambulance practice in a variety of situations that range from health care facilities to uncontrolled external environments and situations. You will learn to prioritise the risks and requirements and coordinate SAAS and other emergency services in the management of a scene, implementing major incident management procedures where required and directing bystanders, first-aiders and other health professionals. You
will also be encouraged to create an environment of open interaction, and participate in ongoing professional and personal development activities.
You will have completed an approved Bachelor Degree qualification in Paramedic practice or hold an equivalent tertiary qualification recognised by the SA Ambulance Service. A current unrestricted SA Driver's Licence will also be required. With a sound understanding of the Ambulance Service's role within the community, you will be willing to contribute to a positive team culture. You will be able to adapt, change and embrace new strategies and best practice techniques, utilising your problem solving techniques and ability to think laterally.
