Trainer Assessor (Mining) / Paramedic / ER - Mines Rescue Coordinator

Employer: Independence Group NL 

Independence Group invites applications from suitably qualified Trainer Assessors (Mining) / Paramedics / Emergency Response professionals with industry experience to join our Kambalda Long Operation. This role reports directly to the OHS Manager and will offer the successful applicant the kind of Company and role that they have been hoping to find.

If you:
Are qualified as a Cert IV Trainer Assessor and either a Paramedic, Nurse, Industrial Medic or hold a Cert IV in Health Care; (Essential)

Have a working knowledge of WA Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, including Mines Safety Inspection Act and Regulations and Workers Compensation Legislation;

Have experience in Mine Rescue and Emergency Response procedures (Underground Experience would be an advantage);


Have experience developing and delivering mining training material to suit individual needs, as well as previous experience in the actual operation of underground equipment;


Have a self-motivated and positive attitude;


Have strong communication skills across all levels of the business;


Have a strong commitment to workplace safety; and


Are available for an immediate start.

This role will involve as a minimum:
Providing First Aid treatment and coordination of Emergency Services to employees and contractors across the operation, including taking ownership of the Primary Emergency call-out phone and responding (in accordance with requirements), whilst on site;


Reviewing and maintaining emergency response procedures;


Conducting scheduled inspections and stocktakes of all on site medical facilities, Mines Rescue equipment including the Mine Ambulance and ordering supplies;


Facilitating and participation in Mines Rescue Training activities and Safety Meetings;


Ensuring that training is developed and delivered in accordance with the relevant legislation and company policies, including site inductions and assessing operator competencies (theoretical and practical);


Undertaking regular workplace monitoring;


Ensuring all safety equipment used, complies within the manufacturers specifications and that all appropriate work methods are followed;


Complying with all site related OH&S Policies and Procedures and encouraging the use of all safety procedures and programs; and


Coordinate Fitness For Work Testing.
