The Faculty of Health provides high quality research and education, the
latter specifically attuned to health workforce needs and reform. The
Faculty engages with Tasmania as a ‘living laboratory’ to develop
innovative approaches to quality health care, particularly in the areas
of chronic disease management and diseases associated with ageing, to
address fundamental health care issues facing Australia. This is
achieved by undertaking applied, clinical and biomedical research of
international significance, with Faculty research strengths in dementia
and translational neuroscience, the prevention and management of chronic
disease, health care services and technology-enhanced learning and
teaching.
The appointee will take a leadership role in the Division of
Paramedicine in the School of Medicine. The successful candidate must be
able to demonstrate high-level health management skills and have a
background of outstanding biomedical/medical teaching and research in a
field that aligns with research strengths of the School of Medicine. The
appointee will lead the further development of both undergraduate and
postgraduate paramedic programs in the Division and will be responsible
for maintaining strong professional links with the sector. The appointee
will have a strong research track record and demonstrated success in
generating funding. The appointee will have a strong commitment to
teaching and effective research training. Experience in academic
management of courses and staff is considered essential.

The appointment will be at Academic Level D, with a total remuneration
package of up to $158,582 per annum (comprising salary within the range
$123,483 - $135,540 plus 17% / 9% superannuation, with the option of an
additional 3% salary loading in exchange for 14% instead of 17%
superannuation).
