Purpose of Position
This role provides advanced clinical care in line with Ambulance policy, procedure and
process in an emergency and non-emergency setting, ensuring that patient's health and medical needs are accurately assessed and appropriate clinical care is implemented in line with Ambulance policies and procedures.
This position may also undertake the duties of a Paramedic or Extended Care Paramedic (ECP) depending on the clinical skills level and requirements of the situation.

Employment Conditions
The successful applicant will be required to undertake relief duties at other centres should the need arise.
Will be required to maintain a Certificate to Practice.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out general ambulance duties.
Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory conduct and services check, which includes referee/supervisor check, a review of sick leave, review of service check register, ability to undertake full duties of the position and clearances from the Professional Standards and Conduct Unit, Ambulance Education Centre and Infection Control.
An eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.

Selection Criteria
Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and operational procedures and practice.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake rigorous self-directed continuous learning and professional self-development relevant to the position.
An effective high level of verbal and written communication skills, as well as, a good understanding of contemporary computer systems and systems specific to the paramedic work environment.
Demonstrated experience in operating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with limited supervision.
Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to self-critique and improve own performance.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills including providing guidance, advice and direction to Trainee Paramedics, Paramedic Interns, Paramedics, Trainee ICPs, Volunteers, Community First Responders and other staff as directed.
Demonstrated experience in implementing ‘Our Values’ and promoting a respectful workplace through the support of other staff.
Must be a Intensive Care Paramedic with a current Certificate to Practice at a minimum clinical level of 5.
