Ride Expeditions - Cambodia
The job advert is for a tour manager to lead riders on Ride Expeditions motorcycle adventure tours from Nov 2015- April 2016 in Cambodia. Each tour varies in length from 7-21 days of mostly off-road riding, starting in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap and finishing in Siem Reap or Sihanoukville.
The position is initially for 6 months, with a view to becoming long term.
Please note that although medical training is an essential requirement, this is also something that can be obtained at a later date. If you do not currently have any medical qualifications, but are willing to obtain them at your own expense, please still consider submitting an application if you fit the other requirements.
The primary responsibility for the Tour Manager is to be ‘sweeper’ behind the riders whilst riding in the day as well as ‘Tour Medic’. Other duties include accounts, hotel bookings, staff management, bike servicing, restocking medical kit…
The right candidate will need to be :
100% committed.
A very good and experienced off-road rider.
Willing to put in long hours.
Sociable and good at dealing with people.
Willing to live in Cambodia for at least the high season months.
Good at public speaking – you will need to do the ‘Welcome Talks’ and daily morning briefing on the rides.
Able to learn general knowledge about Cambodia etc. Riders will expect you to know a lot of info about the places they are going.
You need to be a confident leader.
Essential qualifications & experience :

Medical training (varies depending which country you are from). The equivalent to Medicine in Remote Areas in the UK or Wilderness Medicine in Australia.
Bike mechanics experience.
Managerial / business experience.
Full bike & car license essential.
Preferred:
Tour manager / leadership experience.
Time spent travelling / riding in Cambodia or other Southeast Asian countries.
Bike mechanics qualifications.
Car mechanics qualifications / experience.
Good photography / filming skills.
