The Critical Care Paramedic (Intern) will participate in the Intern program to progress towards the application for Authority to Practice (ATP) at the CCP level. Applicants should be aware that recruitment is to a training program and that appointment to a CCP role is contingent upon the successful progress throughout the internship, demonstrated ability to practice as a CCP and vacancies based on QAS Operational requirements.

Job duration Initial appointment will be for the duration of the CCP Internship. Permanent or further temporary appointment is subject to successful completion of the CCP Internship and availability of positions in your preferred location.

The following mandatory requirements must be fulfilled to be considered for the CCP Intern program:
- Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Paramedic Science (Ambulance); certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
- Applicants must possess a Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Paramedical Practice or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
- Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver’s License (for a manual motor car) prior to closing date for applicants. (Interstate and International applicants must hold an equivalent license at
the time of applying and will be expected to obtain a Queensland Driver’s License upon appointment).
- Applicants must have a current ATP as Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP2) and have worked independently as an ACP2 for a minimum of 2 years at the time of application, or equivalent for external applicants.
- Officers who have been in a non-operational role/position in the previous twelve months must demonstrate a minimum of one full operational shift per fortnight during the twelve months prior to the commencement of the internship.
- All current QAS standard and technical mandatory education programs applicable to ACP2 need to be completed prior to application.
Appointment will be temporary during completion of the CCP Internship. Permanent and further temporary employment in the CCP role will be subject to successful completion of the CCP Internship and availability of positions.
There are multiple positions available, and will be identified at the completion of the CCP Internship.
