Eastern Goldfields Limited is a uniquely positioned gold exploration and production company, and owner of the Davyhurst Gold Project in the highly prospective Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.
Davyhurst is a surface and sub-surface mining operation located 120km north-west of Kalgoorlie and is host to multiple gold deposits. The tenements are also highly prospective for Nickel and Copper deposits.
We are currently seeking an experienced Medic/Emergency Response Coordinator to join our Davyhurst team on a 14 days on 7 days roster on a FIFO or DIDO work arrangement.
The Role
Reporting to the Davyhurst Registered Manager, the Medic/Emergency Response Coordinator will assist in the implementation and management of the Risk Management and Health and Safety programs within Davyhurst, providing key medical support to the Mine Rescue and Crisis Management function.
Key accountabilities:
24 hour on-call Medical and Emergency response support
Ensuring relevant Emergency Management resources including facilities, people, equipment, supplies, policies and procedures meet the daily needs of the site
Supporting the implementation of the Risk Management and Health & Safety program including inductions and personal control systems
Reporting and reviewing all site incidents, conducting audits, reviews and assessments of EGS and contractor Health and Safety systems
Ensure compliant statutory reporting relating to safety statistics and environmental incidents
Maintain accurate records and information relative to Health, Safety and Environment
Promotion of a safe culture adhering to site safety standards
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent organisation skills, the ability to use their initiative -exercising effective decision making under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Cert IV in Pre-hospital Care
Cert IV WHS (equivalent or higher)
Cert III in Mines Rescue and Response
Drug & Alcohol Collectors Certificate
10 years experience within the mining industry in an Emergency Services/OH&S role
Experience in Mines Safety Inspection Act 1994
Experience in Mines safety Inspection Regulations 1995
Experience in Australian Standard AS/NZS 4360:2004 or AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009
C Class Drivers Licence
Underground rescue qualifications are highly desirable
Cert IV Training and Assessing is desirable
