The School of Health and Wellbeing (located in Ipswich) is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to enable individuals to meet current and future needs associated with shaping, promoting and maintaining a healthy society. Programs delivered by the School include biomedical science, laboratory medicine, sports and exercise science, paramedicine and human services.
What you’ll do
An opportunity is now available for a Senior Lecturer to further contribute to the development and delivery of USQ’s Paramedicine program including specific courses relating to ethics, law and evidence based practice. You will also participate in other courses within the program as well as contribute to the ongoing development of other Paramedicine initiatives such as implementing postgraduate programs. In particular, in the role of Senior Lecturer you will:
deliver course content via lectures, tutorials and workshops on-campus and online;
development and review of course materials in collaboration with other academic;
consult with and provide support for paramedic team members and students;
supervise students completing honours research projects, postgraduate coursework and research projects;
engage in research; and
maintain a high-level linkages with industry and professional bodies specifically to ensure ongoing relevance of awards, access to suitable student experiences and facilitation of partnerships in applied research.
What will help you succeed?
Your teaching experience, together with your ability to transfer professional, industry based skills and knowledge to address the professional requirements of a broad range of students from diverse backgrounds will be pivotal to your success in this role. Additionally, you will have:
a doctoral qualification in Paramedicine or other relevant specialty area, with proven high-level expertise in this area;
demonstrated experience in course development and delivery;
proven expertise and/or experience in blended and online learning;
an extensive record of teaching excellence, with a demonstrated capacity successfully teach the Paramedicine discipline incorporating contemporary approaches to pedagogy;
demonstrated capacity to lead community and professional development relevant to Paramedicine; and
a record of research engagement and outputs in Paramedicine and/or a focused research plan and potential to engage with others in team based research.

Salary: Total remuneration range $127,915 to $147,020 pa (includes salary range of $108,086 to $124,229 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
