Applications are invited for appointment to this position, which will be offered in the first instance on a three year fixed-term basis, commencing as soon as possible.

The School of Medicine has innovative education programs, including a new Bachelors Degree in Paramedic Practice which is currently being offered from the Hobart and Rozelle (Sydney) campuses. As well as its MBBS course the School also undertakes extensive teaching in medical sciences for a range of other programs including Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Science. It has a strong alliance with the Menzies Research Institute.

The appointee will have professional qualifications in Paramedicine and have experience in teaching Paramedic students in a tertiary or industrial setting. The position involves teaching, assessment and administration of the Degree with a focus on delivery of clinical Paramedic units primarily within the Pathway Distance Education program at the Hobart campus. A high degree of interaction with staff members from other Schools in the Faculty of Health Science and with Government and private clinical providers will be required.

The appointee will be expected to participate actively in quality assurance and the development of flexible teaching and learning and assessment.

The appointment will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $111,499 per annum (comprising salary within the range $ 80,824- $95,298 plus 17% superannuation, with the option of an additional 3% salary loading in exchange for 14% instead of 17% superannuation).
