Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Senior Officer: Emergency Services to join their Occupational Health and Safety team at St Ives Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Superintendent Security and Emergency Services, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of company operations and commercial targets in a safe, productive and efficient manner by delivering a comprehensive emergency response service to site.
This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 8 nights on, 6 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kalgoorlie or Kambalda.

Key responsibilities will include;
Demonstrate full compliance with OHS and Environment Management Systems standards by assisting in the development of and participation in initiatives; toolbox meetings, investigations, assisting with the implementation and participating in and contributing to audits within the mine
Demonstrate a good level of knowledge and understanding of underground and service mining operations
Build individual and workforce capability by actively participating in the delivery of appropriate emergency response and security training to ensure optimal competency levels are attained and maintained by the team
Supervise, coordinate and deliver qualified emergency response service by partaking in training and real life accident/emergency situations leading incidents and delegating instructions to less experienced personnel
Contribute to organisational effectiveness through the coordination, preparation and training of the mines emergency response team, volunteers and local community groups
Assist in the delivery of a comprehensive security service by performing a number of security related functions including but not limited to access control, CCTV monitoring, personal and vehicle searches, drug and alcohol screening, speed checks, infringement and patrols
Assist in the delivery of a comprehensive security service by taking witness statements, preparing reports and giving evidence whilst ensuring confidentiality of information and protecting business interests
Assist in the development and maintenance of appropriate accurate information systems that capture relevant emergency response activity capable of identifying key performance indicators and trends

Key factors to your success include;
Completion of Secondary Education
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
Industrial Paramedic Qualification
MR/HR Drivers Licence
Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications
Competence in Closed Circuit Regenerative Breathing Apparatus, Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus, Fire Suppression, Hazmat, Rope Rescue and Vehicle extrication
