SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) is the provider of emergency ambulance services in South Australia, and is dedicated to providing the people of South Australia with the highest level of emergency medical patient care, treatment and transport. As an integral part of the health system in SA, we pride ourselves on our ability to save lives, reduce suffering and enhance quality of life. Joining SAAS as a Paramedic Intern, you will work under clinical supervision for the duration of your internship. Within this training and development role, you will participate in the provision of health services within an emergency service environment. This will include ambulance practice in a variety of situations that range from health care facilities to uncontrolled external environments and situations and you will be encouraged to create an environment of open interaction and participate in ongoing professional and personal development.


You will possess an approved Bachelor Degree qualification in Paramedic Practice or an equivalent tertiary qualification recognised by the SA Ambulance Service. You will have an understanding of the Paramedic Internship and the role of a Paramedic Intern. With the ability to effectively communicate with a broad cross-section of the community using both written and oral skills, you will possess decision making skills and a demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and problem solve.
