Student Ambulance Officer

Choosing to join our Student Ambulance Officer program will be one of the most important career decisions you will ever make. The pathway to becoming a Paramedic is an extremely challenging and highly rewarding career choice.

The Student Ambulance Officer Program - by applying for a position as a Student Ambulance Officer with St John Ambulance you are also making a commitment to apply for a place in the Bachelor of Health Science (Major in Paramedicine) Degree at Curtin University.

On successful completion of the first year of full-time study at Curtin University and all pre-employment steps you will be offered full-time employment as a Student Ambulance Officer with St John Ambulance (W.A.).

Once employed you will undertake ongoing practical and academic components over a three year period, on completion, you will graduate as a St John Ambulance WA Paramedic with a Bachelor of Health Science (Major in Paramedicine) Degree from Curtin University.

The Requirements to start Changing Lives - To be successful, you will be required to meet all academic, personal and physical standards. You will need to demonstrate a good driving history, with no more than seven demerit points or serious convictions within the last four years and have a no restrictions ‘C’ or ‘CA' class driver's license. Probationary drivers will not be accepted.

Cover letter
A front and back copy of your no restrictions ‘c’ or ‘ca’ class driver’s license
Proof of permanent working rights within Australia, this may include a birth certificate, passport or citizenship certificate
Proof of eligibility to enter university, either by academic transcript, degree, diploma or STAT results or a letter to demonstrate that you intend to sit the next STAT test, and date when this will be sat.
