Ref: 1632
Experience life
and work in beautiful Queensland whilst broadening your Emergency
Medicine skills within a diverse role. We are currently recruiting for
positions commencing August 2015 and are able to offer 6 or 12 month
contracts.
The Role
Aero-medical retrieval is a mixture of pre-hospital and inter-facility work. As a Careflight Doctor you will be required to stabilise and safely transfer critically ill and injured patients, carrying out most of the initial resuscitation work. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to divers with bends along the Queensland coastlines as well as gain an insight into indigenous medicine through visiting rural and remote locations. Positions are accredited for training with ANZCA and ACEM and the facility is also affiliated to the James Cook University.
A comprehensive induction training programme is provided incorporating aviation medicine, pre-hospital scenario management, helicopter underwater escape training (HUET), and aircraft operational and safety instruction.
Requirements
Careflight have nine bases across the State. Duties vary from base to base and include scene response, search and rescue, inter-facility transfer, and longer distance retrieval to the South Pacific region.
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we’ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.
Once we have secured a job for you, we will manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
- Opportunity to complete a postgraduate certificate in aero-medical retrieval
- Be part of a supportive & friendly team
- Various bases with the Queensland State
