The
Lecturer (Paramedicine) sits within the Department of Community and
Allied Health of the La Trobe Rural
Health School. The Bachelor of
Paramedic Practice / Bachelor of Public Health Promotion program is
innovative and builds on the foundational paramedic knowledge and
competencies of industry and the profession, while providing a strong
education in health promotion, aged care and chronic disease management.
Graduates from the program will be in a strong position to meet the
current and future needs of the paramedicine profession as it responds
to emerging community needs and becomes more integrated into the health
system.
In this role
The successful candidate
will contribute to teaching at an undergraduate level; engage in
scholarship and/or research and/or professional activities appropriate
to his or her career objectives. Undertake administration primarily
relating to activities at the institution and may be required to perform
the full academic responsibilities of and related administration for
the co-ordination of an award program of the institution.
The
successful candidate will develop a reputation for their skills,
knowledge and expertise at a local level; lead project teams within the
workplace or profession; be involved in continuing education of self and
others; contribute to profession at a local level, supervise student
placement/practicum, and demonstrate a capacity to engage in or initiate
changes that benefit the paramedicine profession.
The candidate
To
succeed in this role, you will have strong clinical competence in the
paramedicine field, demonstrated experience in teaching and innovative
curriculum development, have highly developed interpersonal skills
supported by high level written and oral communication skills. Evidence
of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published or
otherwise disseminated would be highly valued. Strong abilities in
analysis, time management, problem-solving, computer literacy with
Microsoft office products are essential.
