T1.1 - T5 (Will vary based upon qualifications, teaching experience and industry experience) This is a 0.6 position (22.8 hours per week) continuing contract.

About the Role
You will be is expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the Victoria University Institute of Technology (VUIT). You will have principal responsibilities for teaching in the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance). VUIT is primarily interested in employing experienced and committed persons with appropriate pedagogical skills and clinical experience.
You will ideally have a demonstrable record as well as experience in operating in a Vocational Education and Training education environment. You should also have a sound working knowledge of the paramedic paradigm of practice. Ideally, the successful candidate should have experience in teaching (Certificate IV in TAE 4011E as a minimum) and appropriate endorsed qualifications for practicing as a paramedic (Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedics).
Should you be successful, you will be employed as a Teaching staff member. Teaching duties are allocated by the course co-ordinator. You will have exceptional teaching, organisational and communication skills and preferably experience within the tertiary sector. Highly developed flexible interpersonal style is desired as is the ability to work cooperatively for effective team management.
Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
• Marking, assessment and consultation with students
• Prepare and deliver high quality lectures, tutorials and practical classes
• Develop high quality unit and course materials if required
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) programme.
• Develop, Trial and implement innovative teaching methods if required
• Comply with quality assurance policies and procedures, and other relevant legislative requirements applicable to the University.
• Strives for professional development and maintains industry currency.
Skills & Expertise

• Completion of an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedics)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Evidence of capacity to develop, coordinate and deliver units in Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance)
